Whitacre 701 is strapped at 1.17 bbl per inch, not the standard 1.67 — pick it here or open the calculator from the Whitacre 701 card. Most other 500-bbl tanks are 1.67. If a pad card shows a different factor, use it.

Interface = top of the water. Available water = interface − buffer, at the strapping factor set above per tank (1.67 bbl per inch is standard). Equalized tanks are connected, but oil sitting on top pushes that tank's water interface DOWN — so gauge every tank and the calculator uses the LOWEST one, since it reaches the buffer first. If tanks are NOT equalized (valved off), figure each tank separately with 1 tank selected.
